This is sure to be an amazing experience. Jen and I have invited Katie Stoops to join us for a 2 day workshop on July 19th and 20th. We have collaborated with some of the best local vendors to ensure this workshop creates wonder and inspiration for our participants. Please click the link below for more information.
I just wrote the check for the final donation to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank in honor of Ryleigh Katstra and her amazing volunteer work for this great organization. Thanks to the support of many local families and their super jumpers, the Jump for Joy event on February 4th raised $468 for the food bank!
Spread the love this Valentine’s Day with a special Jump for Joy portrait event! In honor of past “jumper” Ryleigh K., who does amazing volunteer work for the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, I will be donating 25% of all profit from this event to our local food bank. Better late than never right? Here are some highlights from my Richmond short session event this past fall.
Check out my interview with Ed Sykes from NBC 29 Charlottesville. It was very cool to meet him. I received over 100 pictures. Can’t wait to put my project together!
Here are some of my favorites from the DC short sessions. It was a great day. No props, just 13 families and perfect weather.
Many thanks to Sherry Taylor of 95.1 for taking the time to talk to me about the Jump for Team Talia event this Sunday at Explorations Play Studio.
Here’s my PSA for our Jump For Team Talia fundraiser. Please watch it until the very end. It runs about 5 minutes.
Thanks so much.
Here’s my interview with Amy Vigness-Eastlack of SuzySaid Charlottesville . I said ummm a few too many times but all in all I think it turned out great. Thanks to Michael Bisceglia for making me sound good. Also want to recognize Nicole Root of Explorations Play Studio. Nicole, Talia’s father, and I have been friends since we were 14 years old. To have this opportunity to work together for an old friend is really awesome.

Hello Friends, As you may already know, Lauren and I are knee deep in a fundraising adventure. We’ve set out on a labor of love, set the bar high and are asking for your assistance. On October 2nd I’ll be at Explorations Play Studio all day taking my “jump” portraits to raise money for a very special little girl named Talia. She is the 4 year old daughter of one of my oldest and dearest friends, KP, and his beautiful wife Gayla. Talia has a rare and catastrophic form of epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome. There is currently no cure. Talia can have as many as 100 small seizures in one day. All we can do is hope that researchers find a way to help kids like Talia. This is why all proceeds from this event are going to the Dravet Syndrome Foundation, a non-profit that channels funds into research.
We have designed a website with more information about the “Jump for Team Talia” event. We’d love if you’d join us. If you’ve already participated in one my past “jump” portrait events, please help us spread the word by forwarding this to your friends, neighbors, co-workers, or anyone who you think may be interested in participating. If you are on Facebook please consider posting the following link. Lauren and I just posted about the event on Friday and have been amazed by the support from the community, including individuals who work in radio and the local public access tv station. We are blessed to have such a wonderful network of friends and live in such a generous community. If you have any other ideas to help us promote this fundraiser please feel free to contact either Lauren or myself.

Thank you all so much.
With much love,
Here are some of my favorites from the fundraiser I held for FSBC. These kids did a great job jumping for joy and raising money for their favorite pool club!
On August 7th, fellow photographer, Jen Fariello, and I offered our second Art of Photography workshop. I was busy teaching our participants so I didn’t have much time to actually take photographs. Here are a few I was able to catch. Our models were wonderful and we all had a great day together.
My family has belonged to Fry’s Spring Beach Club for several years and it is one of our favorite places to be come summertime. It has an amazingly relaxed atmosphere, a great staff and is very charming in a vintage pool club kind of way. This summer, as a way to raise a little extra revenue for the club I’m offering a Jump for FSBC portrait event. I just finished up the June sessions and will be looking forward to photographing more, excited jump enthusiasts in July (17th and 18th). Here are a few of my favorites from the June sessions!
Our Art of Photography workshop on April 9th was a huge success. I did not have the opportunity to take many photos as I was working with our students, but here are a few of my favorite shots.
The Spring Short Session Special (can you say that 5 times fast) is gonna happen! Click the photos for details.
