Last weekend my 8 year old daughter had a few friends from school over for some Valentine’s Day cookie decorating. Our February has been pretty hectic so we ordered cookie kits from Kelly Trout of One Creative Cookie. If you haven’t had one of Kelly’s cookies, you are seriously missing out. The kits came with unfrosted cookies, frosting in various colors and sprinkles. The girls had a blast and created concoctions we could not have anticipated. For snacks we gave the girls heart shaped rice crispy treats and pretzels. Well, it turns out nothing was off limits when it came to cookie decorating and before we knew it they were adding their snacks to their cookies. Even our three year old found her own method, which was frost the cookie, lick off the frosting, and repeat. Our only mistake was not ordering an extra kit so Lauren and I could enjoy the cookies as well. They are so good our own kids aren’t willing to share. www.onecreativecookie.com …check it out for your next event.

I am really excited to have been published in the spring issue of Romantic Living Magazine. It was a pleasure working with writer and stylist Charlotte Safavi, Sherry Moeller of Moki Media, homeowner and interior decorator Elizabeth Gibney, and my good friend and fellow photographer Fredde Lieberman.

This is the second time I’ve photographed Shelby and Jason Poole and their adorable kids. This time they asked if we could schedule a photo shoot just after Thanksgiving while Shelby’s entire family was in town. This family was an absolute joy to work with and you can see how much fun they have together. Now the kids, ahhh, the kids…they weren’t necessarily down with the plan to be photographed, but seeing that they are all as cute as they are, the photos still turned out great.

Oops! Just realized I never published these photos from a photo session this past fall. These little girls were so camera friendly and even the baby had a great time!

Al and Alice are close friends who are expecting their first baby in just a few weeks. They have affectionately named the baby while in utero, Groucho, and will give the baby a more gender specific name of course when he/she is born. We had the idea to hire Ginny Sieminski of Expressions Face Painting to come paint a baby dressed as Groucho on Alice’s belly. We had so much fun with this portrait session and even added Groucho glasses and prop cigars. Stay tuned for photos of the real Groucho who should be here very soon! The first few photos in the series were taken many weeks ago when Alice’s baby bump was just becoming obvious. Of course when we all get together it’s hard to be serious even though we are all beyond excited to meet this baby.
