On a gorgeous April afternoon, I had the honor to document the elopement of this sweet couple. Claire Goodman, of Sacred Ground Ceremonies performed the ceremony under a shady tree at the Boars Head Inn. After the ceremony we headed over to Albemarle CiderWorks, where the apple trees were perfectly in bloom. The bridal bouquet, by Tourterelle Floral, was simple and beautiful…just like this ceremony. Wishing them the best of everything in life and marriage!Robert Radifera PhotographyRobert Radifera PhotographyRobert Radifera PhotographyRobert Radifera PhotographyRobert Radifera PhotographyRobert Radifera PhotographyRobert Radifera PhotographyRobert Radifera PhotographyRobert Radifera PhotographyRobert Radifera PhotographyRobert Radifera PhotographyRobert Radifera Photography

When my couples ask for my opinion about a “first look” I always lay out the pros and cons. This is such a personal decision and I am a big fan of either choice. My bride, Megan, from this past Saturday opted not to do a first look with her groom, but instead had just about the sweetest first look moment with her father. I cannot recommend this highly enough. There are so many amazing, emotion filled images from this father/daughter first look, but for now I’ll just share these. The smile on her father’s face when he sees Megan in her gown for the first time is so real and joyful. As a father of two daughters, I can only imagine what this moment feels like. There were smiles, hugs and more hugs, and then, there were some tears. The last image in this series though…that’s the one that may have made me a little misty eyed:) What an incredible honor it is to document weddings!

More images from this beautiful wedding at King Family Vineyards in Crozet to come!

To say I was excited when Holly and Chris asked me to photograph their wedding would be an understatement. I’ve known one of Holly’s sisters for several years, initially through our work together for the Charlottesville Design House, and then as a family photographer for her growing family. I jumped at the opportunity to document Holly’s wedding day! To bond with wedding clients is one thing, but to bond with their families is an added bonus. Both Chris and Holly’s families were incredibly gracious and made me feel like an honorary family member. Not only was everyone so kind, but they were fun and crafty too. Many of the details from Chris and Holly’s wedding were DIY which made the day all the more special.

As their first anniversary is fast approaching, I just wanted to say thank you so much for allowing me to document this incredible day. I wish you both all the best!
