Marjorie and Scott were an absolute pleasure to work with from our first e-mail exchange, to our first meeting via Zoom, to their beautifully rainy wedding day. When the band started playing Islands in the Stream as their First Dance song, I knew that they were my people:) Congratulations to this wonderful couple and their families. I am so grateful for the opportunity to share in your joy.
On a beautiful fall day, with the mountains of Virginia as a backdrop, Jill and Ashley were married. I’ll always remember the original inquiry I received, where Jill said, “I truly am marrying the love of my life”. From that moment I knew that I wanted to document this special day for this incredibly special couple. Congratulations to Jill and her love, Ashley. You each found your lobster (iykyk).
Here’s a secret…I am incredibly superstitious. I am sure it has to do with my Malagasy roots (my father’s toast at my wedding was largely about the many Malagasy superstitions having to do with marriage/family). When it rained for quite a bit of the day on Kristen and Christina’s wedding day, I hesitated to tell them that in my many years of photographing weddings, I have only had one that needed to be moved indoors…and that was a small wedding at the groom’s parent’s home. I didn’t want to jinx them, but I told them, “it will not rain during the ceremony”, and it didn’t. The rain stopped, the clouds eventually cleared and we had an unbelievable sunset.
The truth is, even if it had rained, nothing was going to stop this from being an absolutely perfect day. Congratulations Kristen & Christina! I’m so honored to have spent the day with you and your wonderful friends and family.
